Let Love Be Your guide! “Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; love is not irritable or resentful; love does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.” 1st Corinthians 13
The first time I read this verse, I couldn’t stop thinking, “What the heck is that talking about! That is insane? After all the trials and tribulations, the Apostle Paul went through, how could he write something like that to the City of Love.” Then I thought, that certainly ain’t the case today, you ever watch a “Soap Opera,” or “The Bachelor or Bachelorette,” or any of those night time romantic dramas?” They don’t share that concept, but rather are filled with the opposite dynamic! If love ain’t filled with the drama and yelling and screaming, what could it be?
Well, since the first time I read that verse in Corinthians, I have had a lot of time to “process” this statement. As most everyone knows February is the month of “Love!” and it is the month that many Unity Life Centers focus on the Spiritual Power/Chakra called Love. The heart is the vortex center for the Spiritual Power of Love! This is one of the reasons it is so often confused with that romantic gushy ooey feelings about love that we see being portrayed on the TV and in movies. It is also one of the reasons, why the Spiritual Chakra of Love has to be one of the first chakra to be engaged, harnessed and understood when we begin our spiritual journey called “life,” as pointed out in A Revelation According to John!
Now, I know you were probably taught this in 5th grade as you were preparing to embark on your Spiritual Journey called “Life,” but I’d like to take a moment to review it! The Heart Chakra, where the spiritual faculty of love resides, is actually the energy center where we connect in Oneness to the “Living Energy Field” that surrounds, enfolds and flows through us! Wow! Yes, our heart is where we are connected to the Living Energy Field that surrounds, enfolds and flows through us! Can you feel It’s Presence within the beating of your heart? This Life Force is then sent out to fill every cell of your being as your blood flows forth from your heart! Can you feel the Life Force Flowing? This is actually something I learned from Yoda, although I didn’t connect all the links, the first few times I watched Star Wars!
One of the side effects of being connected in “Oneness” with this Living Energy Field that surrounds and flows through us, is that we are then opened up to all the energy vibrations flowing and moving in this “Living Energy Field.” These energy vibrations flowing in the Living Energy Field contain all the “Wisdom” of the universe, all the thoughts and feelings and sound expressions of the people and the technology that are all around us! Whether we are consciously aware of this energy vibration flowing through us, or not, we are still open to it and experience its effect. Happy, joyous music flowing through the “Ethers” can be felt, helping to lift us up in wonder and delight; whether, we can actually “hear” it or not. We feel All the energy vibrations flowing in the ethers, including the effects of war and violence on the street, it’s hurt and pain, causing states of depression and darkness. This is why we have to discern the difference in the energy vibrations we are feeling in this Field of Oneness.
This is a primary reason we must learn to harness and engage the Power of the Heart, which opens us up in Oneness with the Living Field. Love is not any of those negative concepts shared in Corinthians, but rather Love is the Life Force. Love’s Presence is the Energy of Being and is only goodness and wonder. This a concept Barabara Marx Hubbard shares in Birth 2012. We need to learn to pause in this moment now, opening our heart to Love’s Presence, the Divine Energy Field, where we can feel the All of life. Then consciously create a vibration of love, joy, happiness and peace flowing out into the universe.
