Community Literacy Centers
Are Happening at Unity

Unity’s newest Community Outreach program is growing by leaps and bounds! What began with one student just a few weeks ago has grown to EIGHT students! We are a site for Community Literacy Centers Adult Basic Education classes from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and English as a Second Language classes from 12:30 to 2:30. All classes meet on Mondays and Wednesdays. CLC is a local non-profit organization that served 1,120 adults in the community in 2017-2018. As the number of students served at Unity continues to grow, here are some ways you can help serve the needs of these students.

1.    Volunteer to be a tutor. Tutor training happens once a month at the CLC office at 5131 N. Classen Circle, Suite 204, OKC, Ok. To register, call their office at 405-524-7323 or register online at www.communityliteracy.com .

2.    Volunteer to help with childcare. Many of our students have small children and have to miss class sometimes because they have no place to leave their child.

3.    Distribute literature in the community to advertise the classes. Take a flyer to a shop you frequently go to and leave it on their bulletin board. Or tell someone you know about the classes. Flyers are on the table in the Unity foyer.

4.    Pray for the success and continued growth of this program. If you have any questions you can contact Betty Leggiero at 405-558-1874
